About Tire Chains for 20 x 10.00 x 8
Overall Feedback:
92% positive
88% appreciated its durability, though 12% experienced breakage
I installed snow chains on the rear tires of my mower and they worked well. Research indicated that chains would be less damaging to the soil than heavy tread agriculture tires.
I find the chain difficult to weld back together after modifying to fit due to its poor quality and light weight.
I was skeptical about needing to remove links based on other reviews. Also, it's too small for a 20x8x10 jd D140.
86% found it easy to install
I had to cut off a bit of chain with some bolt cutters as the snow chains fit great on my riding mower, but they were a bit big.
Installing the snow-chains took me about 15 minutes.
88% liked the high-quality chain material, but 12% found it prone to corrosion
I found the chain to be light weight and poor quality, making it difficult to weld back together after modifying to fit.
I couldn't fit the snow-chains as they were too small for my vehicle.
96% liked the perfect size and fit, but 4% found it small
The snow chains fit great on my riding mower, but they were a bit big so I had to cut off a bit of chain with some bolt cutters.
The snow-chains were too large for my tires, so I had to cut out a segment of the chain track to fit them. The chain size was more suitable for 20 x 12 x 9 or larger tires, not for 20 x 10 x 8.25 tires.
I purchased snow chains that came in multiple sizes too big and did not fit my tire size directly.
91% praised for its exceptional traction, while 9% experienced slippage
With the chains, I could climb the backyard hill with less difficulty.
I warn that the snow-chains are not suitable for our tire size and should not be expected to fit.
I installed snow chains on the rear tires of my mower and they worked well. Research indicated that chains would be less damaging to the soil than heavy tread agriculture tires.
I found a helpful tip on how to install snow chains easily and neatly. I cut off the flopping end links using a bolt cutter and then secured the chains on the tires with turnbuckles from Home Depot. The installation was fast and easy.
I am giving the benefit of the doubt that it is a defect as all my other sets still work great. I am rating it 3 for durability since one side still works and they are sending a replacement.
