The Echo Dot is compact and elegantly designed. It fits perfectly on a narrow end table and blends in well in a living room setting.

After the basic setup, open the app and configure the device as per your preference. Some default settings might not be suitable. I have set the do not disturb setting to start at 8 PM and go off at 8 AM to avoid any disturbance while in the bedroom.
I use the device's parental control to turn off lights throughout my home and control all smart devices.
I have set up the smart speaker to lower the volume at 9pm and raise it back up to 5 at 9am. It helps in keeping the kids from waking me up and I dont have to constantly change the volume.
