I noticed that 99% of the skills connecting to some other service providers are from third parties or not available.
I was not informed about the compatibility issue with the multi-room feature and even after 2 phone calls with tech support, no one told me about it.
80% liked its voice recognition, but 20% found it inconsistent.
The voice recognition is surprisingly good out of the box and once I set up my voice profile, it is virtually flawless.
I am disappointed with the Echo voice recognition/intelligence as it recognizes all the words but often doesn't understand what I mean.
I was disappointed with the voice recognition feature. It was awful and required me to stand close by and speak loudly like I was screaming to a half-deaf child in a tornado.

I am unable to connect my smart speaker to music from my PC, DLNA, iTunes, or NAS located on the same home network unless the resources are exposed to the internet for connectivity through Amazon's AWS Cloud.
I have faced connectivity issues with the smart speaker and have to reset it each time. When the power goes out and the internet comes back on, the device cannot reestablish a connection and I have to use my iPad to bring it back to life.
Alexa has difficulty hearing over fans and music, so it should be placed away from any noise source.
