About Sunseed Natural Corn Cob Bedding & Litter for Pet Birds and Small Animals
Overall Feedback:
79% positive
76% appreciated its high absorbency, but 24% found it lacking
Corn cob is great for bird cage droppings, but it is not absorbent.
I placed the corn-based product under wood chips to help absorb, but it made my rabbit sick.
Corncob bedding can cause Aspergillosis if eaten as it carries aspergillum fungus.
I suspect that the corn cob litter caused an intestinal blockage in my hamster and led to her death. This suggests that the litter's absorbency may not be appropriate for small rodents.
I was disappointed with the size of the bag and the absorbency of the product.
I used the product for 2 months with no issues. But when I opened a second bag and used it for 2 nights, my rabbit became paralyzed with a parasite. I am sure that the product was the problem as there were no other changes made.
74% liked the comfortable bedding, although 26% thought it was too firm
If I have a pet that likes to dig, the litter bits might get a little messy because they are small.
The substrate made from water bottle and urine is not suitable for hamsters and can cause harm to them as they are eating it.
I placed a corn-based product under wood chips for my rabbit, but it made him sick. This indicates that the product is not comfortable for rabbits to use.
I noticed black chunks while changing my bird's bedding, indicating that the product may not be comfortable for my bird to use.
I was forced to try a new brand due to lack of availability and was horrified to see a huge cloud of dust while transferring the litter, indicating that I found it difficult to clean.
76% appreciated its long-lasting performance, though 24% found it wore out quickly
I prefer this product and will keep using it in the future.
After switching to this corn litter, my hamster died 4 months later, indicating a negative impact on the longevity of the small animal bedding litter.
After using the product for 2 months with no issues, I used a second bag for 2 nights and my rabbit became paralyzed with a parasite. I am sure that the product was the problem as there were no other changes made and my rabbit was not around any other animals.
I had an African grey for 15 years without any problem till I bought this product and thought it was safe. However, my African grey died after consuming it.
I strongly advise against using this product for birds as it can cause harm to their crop if eaten and is known to carry aspergillum fungus, which can be harmful and expensive to treat. I lost half my flock to it and new babies are especially susceptible.
82% praised for its excellent odor control, while 18% noticed lingering smells
I used this litter for my mice because of its great ammonia control. Some mice don't like the texture of it, but luckily my mice love it and constantly dig to the bottom of their cage and in their litter box just so they can play in it!
I suspect that the corn cob litter caused an intestinal blockage in my hamster, resulting in its death.
I have been using the product safely for some time, but my African grey parrot had never had any problems until I bought it.
I placed the product under wood chips to absorb the odor, but it made my rabbit sick and caused diarrhea.
I bought this litter for my hamster to play in and he loves digging in it.
