About Paw Inspired Disposable Guinea Pig Cage Liners
Overall Feedback:
88% positive
82% appreciated its high absorbency, but 18% found it lacking
I top the liners with bedding to help with smell absorbency because without something on top, they start to stink within a few days.
The only drawback of the product is the lack of absorbency.
The absorbency of the product is no different from regular doggie pee pads.
The litter has 5 layers of protection to absorb urine, but it stays damp and soaked. Small animals lay in cold damp urine unless changed daily.
79% liked the comfortable bedding, although 21% thought it was too firm
The liner is a major plus for me as it is large enough to cover the bottom of the cage, secure with adhesive, and is leakproof and odor absorbing.
After using this product, I noticed my Guinea pig was barely moving, uninterested in food and making a groaning noise after each breath out.
90% found it easy to clean up, while 10% struggled with messes
Weekly cleanup is now quicker and easier for me. I just unstick the adhesive, roll up the used liner and bedding, throw it out, and lay down a new one with fresh bedding.
I liked the idea of disposable liners to make cleaning the Guinea pig cage easier.
Using these pads alone is not enough, so I use them underneath other bedding to make clean up easier.
79% appreciated its long-lasting performance, though 21% found it wore out quickly
I regret not finding this product earlier since I have had a guinea pig for decades.
Weekly cleanup is now quicker and easier. I just unstick the adhesive, roll up the used liner and bedding, throw it out, and lay down a new one with fresh bedding.
I noticed that my guinea pig stopped eating food and hay in the last few weeks and eventually passed away.
After 3 days of not going to the bathroom, I finally had a bowel movement and out came the most sharp, compacted, black in color (the product is charcoal black) plastic looking material, that had clearly been blocking my system for days.
I believe the guinea died from ingesting the liners.
The plastic material was chewed and eaten by my guinea pigs within a day, indicating that the product lacks longevity.
87% praised for its excellent odor control, while 13% noticed lingering smells
The odor control is excellent and the litter is very sturdy and cannot be torn apart by guinea pigs.
The liner being leakproof and odor absorbing is a major plus for me.
The bedding absorbs urine with its 5 layer of protection, but it stays damp and soaked, making it uncomfortable for me to lay on. I suggest using a 14-day odor control paper bedding that absorbs 5x its content instead.
The litter is absorbent and easy to clean and replace if my pet pees on it. Additionally, the litter pieces fit snugly together, making it impossible for my bunny to drag them out.
These liners are fantastic for absorbency. I used them in a cage with two guinea pigs for about 3 weeks and none of the urine seeped through the bottom, leaving the canvas floor completely dry.
