From my initial outings with the lens, I found the image quality at 400mm and f/8 (wide open) to be pretty good in the center of the frame.
I found that it produces fine quality images with its stabilization and lighter weight compared to my previous lens, especially when chasing butterflies without a tripod.
Images are sharp and super sharp with DXO Photolab module applied all over the zoom range, even at 400.
At full zoom (640mm), the picture was perfect for me.

I find the lens lightweight and easy to carry around with the camera on a strap. It also allows for handheld shots without any stress.
I enjoy the size of the lens and find it comfortable to carry for long time travel. The weight of the lens is important to me and affects the time I consider carrying it.
