I love the Strathmore 300 sketchbook because it allows me to put more detail in it.
I dislike the sketchbook-notebook because the binding peels the cover off the pad very quickly when coming in and out of a portfolio bag or when not stored flat.
My sketchbook's binding is destroyed and there are rips in the cover. Pages are being torn away and the back, cover, and side dont even connect to the paper.
The sketchbook-notebook's only downside is the lack of a metal spiral bind on the side of the book.

The thick covers of the sketchbook-notebook hold up very well.
I have not used any other media on this sketchbook, so I cannot comment on its suitability for markers, pen and ink, etc.
The binding peels the cover off the pad quickly when coming in and out of a portfolio bag or not stored flat.
The cardboard container was very thin and warped, resulting in a warped product.

The sketchbook is suitable for dry media, but not for wet media due to the paper thickness.
The paper weight is 50 lbs and it is thin, so it is only suitable for sketching and markers will bleed through.
