I appreciate the binding of this sketchbook as it lays flat on the scanner without damaging the spine.
I faced issues with the binding of the book as the spiral binding detached itself from the book when I folded it in half. I also struggled to put it back together.

The journal is perfect for practicing and improving my skills. It's not too small for a decent landscape and not too big to be overwhelmed.

If the paper is torn, it's better to glue it down to the next page or cut it an inch or so away from the center.
I noticed that the paper does not absorb water/moisture well and the paint cannot flow.
The paper sucks up water and watercolor pigment like a sponge, leading to frustration, streaking, poor blending, and dull colors when dry.
I prefer a cold press paper that is a little smoother as I find the heavy texture of the paper dissatisfying.

The sketchbook arrived with a weird liquid substance on the lower end of the cover. It was easy to wash off with a tissue but still not pleasing.
