About NomadCraftsCo. Vintage Leather Journal Tree of Life 240 Pages
Overall Feedback:
78% positive
76% praised the binding durability, yet 24% struggled
The sketchbook has great quality, lasts a long time, looks and feels great, and holds up well.
After not even a month, the pages started coming out, indicating poor binding durability.
76% liked the cover material's durability
The leather cover is heavy duty and has a unique smell.
My sketchbook has smooth, soft leather with wonderful stitching and light but sturdy pages with gorgeous deckled edges.
73% appreciated the paper weight and texture, while 27% didn't
I have found that the paper takes pen and ink without any bleeding, but I wish the pages had a white deckled surface as the eraser leaves a white spot even with gentle rubbing.
The pages are a bit loose and uneven, but the leather is perfect and cut nicely. The tree mark is also perfect. The paper quality is average, so it's better not to use pencils and erasers.
The pages are not suitable for drawing or heavy ink as they feel like construction paper.
66% praised the size and portability, yet 34% found it too bulky
The sketchbook is quite large, sitting almost 2 1/2 inches high.
I have compared this journal with other genuine leather journals from other makers and noticed a difference in texture and weight. Genuine leather journals are heavy, supple and organically imperfect, whereas this journal is smooth, dull, and feels like it has no substance.
I cannot use pencils with it, which is an issue with the size and portability of the sketchbook.
I have not faced any of the problems mentioned earlier with this sketchbook-notebook, like sticking together, getting wet, inks bleeding through, the spine getting cracked, the pages bending or tearing.
The thickness of the pages allows me to sketch on one side and paint on the other without any leeching or deformity of the paper due to wetness of paint.
I like the size of the sketchbook and it's easy to get a photo without cutting off parts of the drawing.
