I love square sketchbooks and 8x8" is a good size for working out ideas for paintings, journaling, or playing with art supplies.

The paper texture is nice with a slight roughness which is good for erasing. Charcoals and specialty pencils will probably work nicely on it too.
The paper has an obvious texture difference on each side and feels a little like construction paper, with one side having a lot more tooth.

The hard cover looks neat, binding is sturdy, pages are stitched well, paper has some texture and tooth to it which grabs dry media very well, and pages are thick enough to take light wash of watercolor with minimal buckling.

The sketchbook has thick paper and I used pencil, pen, and permanent marker without any bleeding onto other pages.
The binding has excellent features like a sturdy hard cover, rounded corners for durability, closure elastic, ribbon bookmark, and even a pocket inside the back cover.
I received the book with a few small issues. The perforations on the pages seem to be a little wide, making it easy for the pages to start to tear away from the spine.
