About Snow Joe SJ618E Electric Walk Behind Single Stage Snow Blower
Overall Feedback:
77% positive
65% liked the long-lasting battery life, but 35% found it short
The safety button is the worst thing about this product. I have to push the button in before I can squeeze the level for the motor to run. Everytime I let off the handle, the auger stops spinning and I have to do it again. This is a real pain when I have to let off the handle to move the power cord or whatever else.
63% liked the adjustable chute control, but 37% found it flimsy
I suggest modifying the chute design to prevent snow from blowing it off the machine and keeping it in place by going from under to top.
I have complained that the chute is made of flimsy plastic and does not stay latched, often flying off just from snow. The latching mechanism broke from the chute on the 2nd use.
The chute control cannot handle the force of the snow and pops off regularly, leaving it hanging by the screw.
69% impressed with its sturdy build quality, but 31% experienced some issues with rust
I used four stainless steel screws and washers to strengthen the plastic because the top section kept spinning off. It works fine now.
The thumbscrews for the discharge chute have locking nuts that grip the carriage bolts tightly. With one turn, the square holes were ripped out of the chute, causing the bolts to spin freely.
I noticed that the chute is made of flimsy plastic and often flew off just from snow. The latching mechanism broke from the chute on the 2nd use. This indicates poor durability of the product.

70% praised its user-friendly design
Having a wall mounted cord reel and a long zip line with a pulley would make it much easier for me to use the snow blower.
I found this snow thrower easy to assemble and use. It's lightweight and easy to maneuver. The corded feature eliminates the need to deal with a gas engine. I had to get used to moving around with the cord, but it was a minor inconvenience.
69% appreciated its relatively quiet operation, though 31% found it too loud
The device is loud even though it runs on electricity.
69% liked the efficient performance, but 31% had issues with clogging
I am disappointed with the performance of the snow thrower.
I encountered a problem while using the snow thrower, but it had performed flawlessly before that.

A cordless version with a long-lasting battery would be an improvement.
