I have had issues with the build quality of the side-cutting-pliers, and this is not the only Irwin hand tool problem I have faced.

I find the cutting ability of the tool to be very good and it is capable of handling almost anything, although it is not excellent.
With these Irwins, I can just slide the wire in and snip it without any hassle, which saves a lot of time. Other cutters frustrated me due to the gap in the cutting surface.
I was able to cut a thick wire for a car battery with the tool without any issues or pain.
