I find that the size and dimensions of the sharpening-stones are suitable for larger blades like axes, swords, and spears, but not as effective for pocket and smaller kitchen knives due to the sheer size of the stones.
The size of the sharpening-stone is perfect for anything from pocket knives to 14" long chefs' knives.

Both sides of both stones feel like they're probably in the 400-700 range for grit.
The grit size of sharpening-stones are mislabeled. Using grit 400 takes forever and grit 8000 easily dulls a sharp knife.
The grit ratings of the sharpening-stones were completely wrong. All the stones were mislabeled. The supposed 400/1000 grit stone was actually the polishing stone. The 3000/8000 stone were actually the 400/1000 stone.
