About HBI Self Adhesive Tear Away Embroidery Stabilizer
Overall Feedback:
87% positive
82% liked its long-lasting durability, but 18% found it deteriorated quickly
An iron-on stabilizer can be used with this product if a permanent stabilizer is needed.
I was impressed with the product despite my initial concern about the cost difference, indicating its good durability.
For light to moderate stitch numbers with some satin stitching, the stabilizer is suitable. However, dense designs require additional stabilizer or topping.
81% found it easy to remove
I like the adhesion of the stabilizer. It keeps everything in place in my hoop, and yet it is easy to remove and clean up the back of my pieces when I am done.
After rinsing off, I noticed that the needle stayed clean and excess stabilizer was removed beautifully.
Removing the paper around the embroidered design is easy.
This product can be used with an iron on stabilizer if a permanent stabilizer is needed.
I have noticed that the stabilizer sticks on, stays on, and tears fairly easily after machine embroidering.
84% found it easy to apply
I find the stabilizer easy to hoop and of good thickness that doesn't tear up in the machine.
I hope that if it can hold a rope bowl base securely, it will be easy to use for a piece of velvet.
I can hoop designs in seconds with the product and easily reposition if needed.
I would be happy to buy this product again even if I have the other stabilizer still sitting around.
69% liked its size and thickness
I use this product to hoop fabric on my Durkee flat hoops and it works perfectly for me. I can also easily reposition it if needed.
83% praised for its stability
I like the adhesion of the stabilizer. It keeps everything in place in the hoop and is easy to remove and clean up the back of the pieces when done.
I was worried about the quality of the stabilizer since it was much cheaper than my dealer brand. However, I was impressed with the quality of the stabilizer and decided to use it from now on.
The product has a sturdy paper backing and is really sticky, but when I tried to remove the paper from the aluminum hoop, it stuck and the paper tore the top layer away. I had to spend an hour soaking it in lacquer thinner, goo gone, etc and using a putty knife to remove the adhesive layer.
This stabilizer can resist medium heavy designs (+20,000) stitches, making it a durable product.
