I found this pen easy to use for marking and tracing on fabrics, and it saved me from having to mark a line and take my iron to press. It also works on heavy fabrics such as upholstery.

I find this tool to give me great control and it is much safer than using an iron.
I found the tool useful in preparing appliqu pieces. It produces beautiful edges like starch-prepared appliqu, but is not as hard to sew through by hand.
It is great for both quilting and clothing construction. It does not leave a mark and makes a line that folds over on its own, so I don't have to scorch my fingers pressing that line in.
The pen works like magic on regular weight cotton fabric for hems. It helps a lot with making 1/2 inch hems while making a bag from old jeans. I still need pins/wonder clips to fold the fabric in place, but it's much easier with this pen.
