About Magicfly Portable Sewing Machine, 12 Built-in Stitches Mini Sewing Machine
Overall Feedback:
65% positive
64% liked the stitch options, but 36% didn't
After using the leader scraps, I found that the stitching looked great and I was able to go over point seams well.
I have a machine with multiple stitch options and it's one of the few machines for children that has a reverse feature.
I found that the sewing machine does zigzag and other stitches well, but I had trouble setting the controls for zigzag stitch. If the needle wasn't positioned perfectly, it would hit the metal on the footplate and break.
I cannot sew more than 12 inches before the thread inside the machine snags or the needle bends.
64% found the needle positioning ideal, while 36% encountered issues
I faced an issue with the needle positioning while setting the controls for a zigzag stitch. The needle would strike the metal on the footplate and brake if not positioned perfectly.
I have adjusted the needle numerous times because the bobbin casing is out of alignment/timing and it doesn't hold in place.
67% were impressed with the bobbin system, however 33% weren't
I faced issues with the sewing machine as it was getting stuck every few stitches. Later, I realized that the bobbin is mandatory to put in.
I have noticed that the thread frequently gets jammed in the bobbin casing, tension, and guide arm.
I am having trouble with the needle thread catching or looping around the bobbin to bring the bobbin thread up through the thread plate hole.
I faced problems after changing the bobbin and noticed that it was bent when I put it down on the table. The problem was resolved after replacing it with a different bobbin.
69% highlighted the automatic thread cutter, whereas 31% struggled
I noticed that the thread kept knotting up and the foot feed was unreliable, sometimes working and sometimes not. Eventually, it stopped working completely.
I faced issues with the machine jamming frequently until I realized that the thread wiggles out of position 2 every few stitches.
63% appreciated the sewing speed control, yet 37% were disappointed
I had an issue with the sewing speed control of my sewing machine. The needle would strike the metal on the footplate and brake if it was not positioned perfectly on the selector.
67% found it durable, although 33% raised concerns
After three weeks of steady use, I found myself spending more time changing needles and retreading the machine than actually sewing.
While doing the first few stitches on a pillow case, the needle shattered and blew apart. I have never had this happen before and the needle was under such strain that it blew apart into at least three pieces.
The sewing machine is consistent and stitches are nice and even once I find my tension. I have gone through 4 layers of Kona cotton without issue, and even over thicker seams without a skipped stitch.
