Based on my experience with my 50lb dog who uses it all the time, I can say that the screen door is pretty durable. It hasn't frayed or worn out even after months of use despite my dog hitting it with his paw and barking to come in.
After a couple of weeks, the adhesive wore off and the top strip would come off and droop. The weight of the magnets didnt help.
