Fan speed 2 is a little louder but not enough to disturb sleep or TV.
Fan speed 1 is practically inaudible and can purify the entire room within 2 hours.
On low and medium settings, the noise level is great and it gets loud but tolerable on high. I slept through the night with it on high.
