These are military grade, and very sturdy. I really like the way in which they are mounted, as you simply slide the hook down onto the mount, without set screws to tighten or protrude from the bottom of the hook.
The towel hook slides down onto strong tabs, and I'm thinking of buying a couple more of this design for hanging hand towels, etc.
I decided to keep the towel hooks in my shopping cart for a few weeks while I looked for a less expensive alternative, and if I only needed one, I would have bought this hook, but I wanted them in several locations for convenience.
The design of the hook is similar to the Delta fixture line in the bathroom, and it is a significant value, but the instructions advise against using wall anchors if you can't hit a stud.
I was not sure what they were doing but this was the easiest install ever, it took less than two minutes.
Question & Answers
Is it waterproof and will be placed on an outdoor shower?
I put mine within a shower stall and it didn't rust yet, but the screws that accompanied it and the base it attached to rusted on mine so I sealed it around the edges after replacing them.
The pilot hole in the instructions seems to be really small, can I use the screws provided with the kit?
The hook was mounted by my contractor into the ceramic tile.
Is it possible for the hook to be mounted on a marble slab?
Yes. You can use the right drill bit to not crack your slab.
What is the distance between the holes of the mounting system?
To mount screw rear plate in place, you have to remove the hook from the holes in the real plate.
I can only handle a depth of about 2 inches. What is the distance from the wall to the front of the hook?
It's 3 from the base of the wall to the front.
