About Vortex Optics Crossfire II Second Focal Plane, 1-inch Tube Riflescopes
Overall Feedback:
78% positive
73% found it easy to adjust, while 27% struggled
I noticed that the magnification adjustment ring between 6 and 11 magnification is difficult to turn and almost stopped working.
71% appreciated the battery life, but 29% experienced frequent drain
After using the scope on my Savage mark 2 at the range once, the reticle turned inside the housing and now it will not level properly.
74% appreciated the build quality
I think the scope's build quality looks good and it would be suitable for most any .22 Rimfire rifle, although I cannot comment on its durability.
For the price, this scope has a lot of features and quality and can hold its own against scopes costing over double the price.
I have found that the scope is clear, zooms well, and holds its zero if properly mounted.
74% liked the magnification power, but 26% found it difficult to use
At magnification of 3X and above, I can see a clear field of view of 10+ inches with the scope. However, reducing the zoom below 3X causes strong distortion at the edges, which progressively increases in size as the magnification approaches 2X.
73% praised the mounting process, though 27% raised issues
I got the scope mounted, but didn't get to use it.
The scope came scratched up with a tiny gouge in the back, which I suspect may have occurred while it was being mounted or used before.
I noticed that the scope runs out of elevation adjustment unless I am forward of the receiver of the rifle.
71% liked the night vision capability, but 29% found it insufficient
I found the scope to have good optics for its price range and the Dead-Hold reticle to be very usable.
During dawn or dusk, when it matters most, the scope is not suitable for use.
73% found the weight ideal, while 27% found it bulky
The only drawback of this scope is that it is a bit heavier than my previous scope, the Leopold 2x7.
I wanted a straightforward scope with adjustments for 100 yards and hash marks, not too fine retinal, and common sense to hit a variety of targets for my ARs.
At max magnification, I've noticed that the scope requires absolute centering of the eye and is very unforgiving.
