About TP-Link AX3000 WiFi 6 Range Extender Internet Booster(RE700X)
Overall Feedback:
86% positive
78% found it compatible with various devices, while 22% had issues
The WiFi doorbell camera and WiFi PTZ behind the door are now connecting perfectly.
When used as a mesh device, I cannot connect the device to a mesh system through the ethernet port as it does not support ethernet backhauling.
80% appreciated the connectivity range, whereas 20% didn't
I have found the wireless connection to my router to be incredible and very reliable, with excellent wifi range extension.
After plugging the repeater into a wall outlet where the app said it was perfectly placed, the wifi signal and speed registered no different than not having it at all.
83% appreciated the easy setup, yet 17% struggled
The best feature of our product is that we can plug a device into its network port.
I highly recommend the pairing for a strong mesh setup.
I found it easy to set up the wi-fi extender once I figured out the right password for my router. It connected in minutes.
The product had good reviews and was supposed to be easy to set up, but I ended up spending 4 hours trying to connect it to my internet and another 6-8 hours with chat support over 2 days.
I found that the extender did not extend the wifi range as expected. I provided a picture to compare the range with and without the extender.
I put the extender in a clear configuration and the signal was only getting 3mbs down, when without the extender I was already getting an average of 10.
79% highlighted the signal strength indicator, yet 21% didn't
I was able to connect, but the signal strength was only around 60%, which was not what I was hoping for.
I had a horrible signal strength and speed of around 200Mbps on my 1GB plan.
On the 5Ghz network, it did not make a difference and actually made it slower.
I put the extender in a clear configuration away from any metal pipes or parallel to a mirror, extending the signal 20 feet from the source and another 20 feet to the PC. However, the signal was only getting 3mbs down, whereas without the extender, I was already getting an average of 10.
84% liked the high-speed performance, but 16% noticed slowdowns
After connecting to the extended 5.0 Ghz version and doing a speed test on my Sony Bravia XK90K, I experienced a significant improvement in speed performance. The product now supports 8K speed.
After setting up the repeater, I was able to get around 500Mbps in the worst room in the house on WiFi. Adding a switch to hardwire out computers increased the speed to 800Mbps+.
I have complained that the download speed quickly drops to zero just a few feet from the unit, which is not acceptable for a range extender.
In a distant room where the native ASUS router was barely giving 1-2mbps, this repeater gave me 50-80mbps.
