About D-Link AX1800 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender
Overall Feedback:
72% positive
67% found it compatible with various devices, while 33% had issues
I bought the repeater because it claims to be fully compatible with Wi-Fi 6 routers. However, it is not compatible with WPA-3 security protocols as advertised by D-Link.
72% praised the stable connections
The mesh works perfectly, and I only have one wifi network listed, so I don't have to switch back and forth between the two.
When I migrated to the new AP name, the device improved reception and network performance for most devices.
73% appreciated the easy setup, yet 27% struggled
I easily connected the WiFi 6 Mesh network extender to my existing D-Link Mesh router and it works great.
Setting up the booster was very easy.
Setting it up was pretty easy and now it's integrated into my home wifi.
The setup is not as easy as mentioned in the product description.
83% liked the power consumption
The repeater is a huge value and win.
76% appreciated the range extension, yet 24% faced issues
The mesh worked perfectly for me. Now, I only have one wifi network listed and don't have to switch back and forth between the two.
The repeater greatly helps to repeat the main router WiFi to areas that were previously spotty and allows devices to reliably connect every time accessed.
I tested the repeater with legacy technologies and distances and found no issues with receiving or extending the signal to the entire house from the main floor wall outlet.
I hope the repeater improves the signal to the main and upper levels of my 3500 sq ft house with 3 floors, as the modem and router are located in the basement.
76% highlighted the signal strength indicator, yet 24% didn't
The repeater helped us repeat the main router WiFi to previously spotty areas and allowed reliable device connections.
The Wi-fi signal is now excellent throughout the house and the setup was pretty easy.
I tested the repeater with legacy technologies and distances to see if it made much of a difference. I found that it worked well for this purpose.
Rephrased: I found the repeater to work well with legacy technologies and distances during my testing.
The signal strength was weak, resulting in slower speed.
70% liked the high-speed performance, but 30% noticed slowdowns
I compared the speed performance of the old repeater with the new one. The old one never got above 30Mbps, if it connected at all.
In the corner of my house, the device did not improve my wifi-internet speed.
Even after moving the repeater closer to the gateway, I still faced issues with video call drops and slow download speeds.
I bought the repeater because it claims to be fully compatible with Wi-Fi 6 routers. However, it is not compatible with WPA-3 security protocols as advertised by D-Link.
It took me 10 minutes to set up the extender using the Tether app. I had to wait for 5 minutes for the extender to connect with the modem and a couple of minutes to reconnect after moving it to the middle coverage area.
After placing the extender in the garage, the connection strength improved to 3 out of 4 bars.
