About AKG Pro Audio K271 MKII Over-Ear, Closed-Back, Professional Studio Headphones
Overall Feedback:
79% positive
77% appreciated the sound, but 23% noted occasional distortion
I was disappointed with the audio quality and the headphones' inability to handle low end. This resulted in clipping at the slightest hint of kick drum, leading me to believe that the headphones may have arrived damaged.
81% found them easy to transport
During my 4 months hitchhiking journey in South America, I threw my headphones inside my bag and they are still almost intact, aside from some cosmetic scratches. This proves that the headphones are portable and can withstand rough handling.
84% were satisfied with the noise cancellation
The closed back of my headphones helps a lot with background noise, but it's not the same as noise canceling headphones.
85% liked the wide frequency response
The headphone has patented Varimotion speakers that provide realistic sound with a wide frequency response, which is common to all AKG products.
82% appreciated the durability, but 18% reported issues
I have owned these headphones for over a year and use them for hours everyday. They are thrown about, the cable is pulled, and they have suffered lots of abuse, but they refuse to stop working. They are the most sturdy cans I have ever owned.
I experienced a problem with the earpiece as I lost sound in one ear. A teardown revealed broken parts of the plastic headband inside the earpiece cover.
The headphones have broken several times despite being used for a short time and with no abuse.
After a few months of purchase, the internal plastic parts started falling apart and disintegrating. I had to re-solder the wires multiple times before giving up.
80% liked the comfortable fit, but 20% found them too tight after extended use
The headphones are really comfortable, like a koala cuddling my head.
I have worn them for 8 hours straight without any discomfort.
I found the headphones comfortable to use despite usually finding big cans uncomfortable, and I agree with other reviewers.
The headphones are comfortable to wear all day and great for composing.
I find these headphones to be quite comfortable, both in terms of snugness and touch, as I wear glasses and have a large head.
The headphones are uncomfortable due to tiny ear pads and a tight headband.
82% highlighted the ample cable length
The headphones come with a nice long cable and a screw-in larger phono adaptor for plugging into most other things, including some guitar amps or my other electric drums.
I was disappointed with the audio quality and the headphones' inability to handle low end. This resulted in clipping at the slightest hint of kick drum, leading me to believe that the headphones may have arrived damaged.
I was pleasantly surprised with the sound quality of my voice when I plugged the AKG earphones into my mic. The sound quality was clear, crisp and accurate.
The A Pads provide a flat frequency response with solid and controlled bass and clear mid and high frequencies.
