About TRYMAG Neodymium Rectangular Magnets 80Lbs
Overall Feedback:
88% positive
88% liked its strong adhesion, but 12% found it fell off easily
These magnets are extremely strong and maybe even too strong for my project. They easily hold 5 mm thick basswood plywood firmly on a steel honeycomb sheet for laser cutting.
The magnets are powerful and can stick to the fridge like any other magnet. But when pulling a metal object like a knife off, it comes along with the magnet.
The metal wrap on the magnet lessens its magnetism on that side, making it not ideal for 2-sided use.
80% appreciated the high-quality coating, though 20% found it flaked off
The metal wrap on the magnets reduces magnetism on that side, making it not ideal for 2-sided use.
85% found it to be extremely durable, while 15% experienced demagnetization
I measured the actual dimensions of the magnets using calipers and found that they were very close to the nominal size.
The magnets on the full face side are strong.
The magnets are surprisingly strong and durable. One little magnet can hold more stuff than the whole 12 inch tool strip I had.
I recommend getting longer screws from a hardware store as the current ones are not sturdy enough for the high pull force.

I noticed that the reviewer mentioned that the magnets have chips or cracks, but they are still usable, indicating that the coating quality of the rare-earth-magnets is not up to par.

The magnets are enclosed in a steel cup and only a single large side can actually stick to ferrous metals.
