I find the gesture control feature of this range-hood very useful and not just a gimmick. I have used it with messy hands from cooking or oven mitts on and found it to work perfectly. Even though it has touch control, I use the gesture control almost exclusively.
I was pleasantly surprised by the motion sensors and remote control options. The fan can be controlled using hand gestures in front of the motion sensors, making the remote control almost redundant.
The remote control of the range-hood is not user-friendly. It has to be pointed directly to the buttons which defeats the purpose. While cooking and remote is on the counter, I want to just touch the remote function not pick it up and point.

I appreciate the LED lights of the range-hood which are not the old yellow color as the older ones and find the remote control feature useful.
The LED lights of this range-hood provide more than adequate bright lighting above the cooking area.
