About RunningSnail Emergency Weather Radio, 2000mAh Power Bank for Emergency Phone Charge
Overall Feedback:
79% positive
75% liked the frequency range, but 25% didn't
I can tune in AM stations that are over 100 miles away through mountains with the radio.
I was able to pick up many different NOAA alerts and the range is pretty good for the overall size of this radio.
The radio has a function switch with Weather Band (WB), Frequency Modulation (FM) and Amplitude Modulation (AM).
Tuning is very twitchy due to the tuning mechanism's backlash, as the tuning dial spans only 1-1/8 inches from the lowest frequency to the highest frequency.
I think the frequency adjuster knob needs to be 5 or 6 times slower as it's difficult to dial in on a station.
82% found connectivity options easy
I noticed that the radio has a small telescoping antenna on the right side that can be swiveled and pointed in the best direction. Also, we need to use the antenna out in the country. It feels a bit loose but works fine.
I love all the power options and am curious if I can install a larger battery. The unit has a door on the bottom with 2 screws holding it on.
79% were impressed with the portability
This device is a well-made compact portable backup battery that can be used for any device hungry for power.
The radio is perfect for a small bug-out-bag or survival kit and will keep me updated with important weather/safety information.
63% were satisfied with display and controls, whereas 37% weren't
It is impossible for seniors to use due to the difficulty in seeing and using the buttons and knobs.
69% appreciated the audio quality
I was impressed with the sound quality of talk and music stations, considering the size of the speaker.
The FM radio has great sound quality, comparable to a regular plug-in radio. The AM radio is also at the same level of sound quality as other radios.
67% appreciated the antenna length and design, while 33% struggled
Overall, the build quality of this little guy is great and it feels sturdy enough to get banged around a bit.
I broke the antenna of the radio and tried to find a replacement but couldn't. I tried gluing it multiple times but it kept breaking off.
The sound quality is sufficient for news and talk programs, especially for the weather band.
