About PowerBear Portable Radio
Overall Feedback:
90% positive
73% were satisfied with display and controls, whereas 27% weren't
The controls/wheels/sliders are not smooth and the dial for changing stations is very rough. It is immensely difficult and often impossible to pinpoint an exact station because it requires a smooth scroll to keep it in that exact spot without hitting the next station up or down. The control slider for the AM/FM is also rough and getting stuck every time I slide it.
90% were impressed with the portability
The radio is lightweight and small enough for backpacking or hiking near stations or towers.
The radio is lighter in weight and the silver color is easier for my low vision friend to find in their backpack.
87% liked the frequency range, but 13% didn't
The tuner component uses a digital chip and changes the frequency in tiny steps smaller than 0.1mhz.
I found it difficult to determine the frequency due to the narrow distance between frequencies.
85% appreciated the audio quality
At maximum volume, I can hear clear, bright and loud audio with little or no distortion.
71% appreciated the antenna length and design
I like the antenna design of my radio that bends to the side instead of retracting inside.
I have used the radio and found that it has AM, FM, and WB frequency range. I was able to tune in to the weather band with some effort and caught a signal.
The radio is easy to operate, even for those with low vision. The dial finds stations and the volume is controlled with the same knob that turns it on and off.
