About Midland - ER310, Emergency Crank Weather AM/FM Radio
Overall Feedback:
82% positive
74% found connectivity options easy
I noticed that the radio has 2 USB ports, one is input port meant to charge the Li-ion battery and the other is output port to provide power to a cell phone.
78% were impressed with the portability
I like the portability of the radio with its small size, molded handle, built-in flashlight, and easy button tuning capacity.
70% liked the frequency range
Radio reception was good on both FM frequencies and Weather bands in north eastern Ontario.
66% were satisfied with display and controls
I learned to turn off the radio by pressing and holding the 'BAND' button and watching the display.
The radio has a digital LCD panel that displays time, radio function, and battery status.
I can tune in my favorite station even in the dark with the radio's clock, LCD backlit display, and digital tuning.
I am happy that the digital display has 3 backlight options, making it easy to operate the radio in the dark and eliminating unnecessary light in my RV when I sleep.
There is a push button on the left that controls switches from Weather Alerts, to FM to AM. Additionally, there is a WX button next to the channel button, and WX will appear blinking on FM and AM, meaning, if turned on, it will break in on listening of Music etc, and give the alert.
84% appreciated the audio quality, however 16% were dissatisfied
The sound quality of both the built-in speaker and the earphone output is more than adequate for a portable radio.
The sound quality is average for the internal speaker, but better when speakers are plugged in. It's not a HiFi system.
66% appreciated the antenna length and design, while 34% struggled
To find channels easily, fully extend the antenna and place it near a window or exterior door for stronger signal.
The new model antenna is not as easily used or positioned to maximize reception as it is a simple pull out- no rotation of the antenna.
The antenna design is poor as it sticks out past the body, making it easy to snap off.
I noticed that the radio has 2 USB ports, one is input port meant to charge the Li-ion battery and the other is output port to provide power to a cell phone.
I have noticed that the radio has exceptional features, picks up a lot of stations clearly, and the speaker is of high quality.
The radio has exceptional features, picks up stations clearly, and has a high-quality speaker.
