About PRUNUS J-166 AM FM Transistor Radio
Overall Feedback:
95% positive
87% liked the frequency range
I have used the radio and found that it has AM, FM, and WB frequency range. I was able to tune in to the weather band with some effort and caught a signal.
88% appreciated the antenna length and design
I was able to tune in to the weather band with some effort and with the fully extended antenna, I moved it all around until I caught a signal. The sound was faint, but it will suffice in an emergency.
95% were impressed with the portability, yet 5% faced challenges
The radio can be a little staticky with weaker signals and its battery life is uncertain. However, I need it to work for a couple of hours after some hypothetical disaster that knocks out power and cell service.
86% were satisfied with display and controls, whereas 14% weren't
The tuning knob is easy to use and stations are easy to find. There is a separate on/off switch from the volume knob.
The radio has a modern design with tight and solid control knobs and wheels, not cheap and flimsy.
The tuning wheel is larger than the volume control and sits atop the right side of the radio as I look at the front, so adjusting the volume without looking means I'm going to adjust the tuner the first couple times I do this. If I'm not very bright, I'll do that indefinitely.
All controls are on the right side, but the volume should be on a different side as it is the most used aspect.
I have used the radio and found that it has AM, FM, and WB frequency range. I was able to tune in to the weather band with some effort and caught a signal.
The radio is easy to operate, even for those with low vision. The dial finds stations and the volume is controlled with the same knob that turns it on and off.
I can pick up all of my emergency stations even inside my building with the super long antenna.
