About Honeywell TH6210U2001/U T6 Pro Programmable Thermostat, 2 Heat / 1 Cool Heat Pump Or 1 Heat / 1 Cool Conventional
Overall Feedback:
80% positive
79% liked the temperature range, but 21% didn't
I cannot override the thermostat's program. It sets to 62 during the day and 70 at night, even when I set it for 68 during the day and 64 at night. I tried to lock it at 66, but it still goes to 70/62 even when turned off.
71% appreciated the flexible programming, yet 29% weren't satisfied
I had to press both Menu AND '+' simultaneously to access programming as the instructions were incorrect.
80% were satisfied with the display, however, 20% were not
I like the thermostat display because it's large enough to see without glasses and setting the preferred temperature is easy.
The thermostat is difficult to read with terrible contrast and small characters. Even with the backlit display, I have a hard time reading the tiny little print as far as the mode in the function goes. The temperature is big enough and dark enough that I can see it, but without my glasses an extra light I cant see anything.

I compared the WiFi connectivity of Trane and Honeywell thermostats. The Honeywell thermostat stays connected almost always as long as the WiFi is not down, whereas the Trane thermostat disconnects and reconnects randomly and sporadically.
I really like the new backlight and the programming feature for weekdays and weekends. The programming is easy and simple but lets me do really cool things. I can balance how much gas vs electricity I use by programming one to have a lower turn-on temperature than the others, or, for example, starting the gas furnace earlier to help me wake up and take the brunt of the heating chores from the electric heat.
