I bought a competitor's product that did not work, but I was happy to find these adapters and they worked flawlessly for my custom application.
I have used 12 of these devices to power Raspberry Pi 2s and 3s and found them to be generally excellent.
I have used the device to power a Raspberry Pi 3B+ at gigabit speeds with no issues, indicating good build quality.
I suggest that the updated model (U515902) is better than the previous model as it supports the gigabit port.
78% praised the connectivity, but 22% experienced issues
I purchased the updated model (U515902) which works flawlessly with all of my 3B+'s. The POE injector (UCT-5159) does not work with the gigabit port on the 3B+.
I warn that this device does not work out of the box with Raspberry Pi 3B+ and provide more information about the issue.
The splitter works well with the earlier version of Pi 3B but is not compatible with my Pi 3 B+.
When I power my raspberry pi with the network, it is not reliable enough to maintain a UDP session.
79% found it easy to set up and install
I have used 12 of these devices to power Raspberry Pi 2s and 3s and found them to be excellent.
I found these powerline-network-adapters to be effective and easy to install after having trouble with a competitor's product.
79% found the network speed to be fast and reliable, but 21% experienced slow speeds
I have used the device to power a Raspberry Pi 3B+ at gigabit speeds with no issues.
I recommend this device for older Raspberry Pis, but not for the RPi 3B+ due to additional steps required and lack of support for gigabit speeds even if it worked as designed.
The device has a limitation of 10/100 Mbps only, which is not suitable for my new Raspberry Pi3B+ that supports higher than 100 Mbps connection speeds.
The POE injector (UCT-5159) did not work with the gigabit port on my 3B+. I got the updated model (U515902) which supports the gigabit port and it works flawlessly with all of my 3B+'s.
I have experienced that the network drops too many packets, making it unreliable for maintaining a UDP session.
66% praised the extended range and coverage, but 34% experienced dropped signals
I just bought the newer Gigabit version of the device which works with the Pi 3 B+.
Now, 2way audio, recording to SD card, and IR are working which were not functional earlier due to power issue.
Even though my adapter powers my raspberry pi, the network is not reliable enough to maintain a UDP session.
This device is only suitable for older Raspberry Pis and not for the RPi 3B+ as it requires additional steps and would not support gigabit speeds even if it worked as designed.
I mounted my POE adaptor in a plastic LB 3/4 inch conduit box to protect it as the powerline-network-adapters are not waterproof except for the end camera side cable.
I have been able to deliver a consistent supply of current using standard Cat5E cabling with the NetGear JGS-516PE PoE switch behind the module.
