The build quality of the POE injector and splitter is better when ordered separately. They are made of black plastic, are gigabit and 802.3af compliant. The POE injector comes with the 48v adapter.
We needed powerline-network-adapters to supply power to microphones for our 4 cameras that do not have built-in audio.
The powerline-network-adapters work with my POE 802.3af switches and midspan adapters without any trouble.

TP-Link has a PoE ethernet cable that splits into a regular data ethernet connector output and a selectable 6/9/12 VDC connector output.
I used the TP-LINK PoE injector & splitter kit to connect two buildings that are 150 meters apart with a CAT5e ethernet cable. I placed the PoE injector at the beginning of the cable, the splitter at the 50 meter mark powered from the PoE injector and the ethernet cable continues on for the last 100m.
When using only the power connection, I noticed that the device requires an active device on the ethernet port to stay on.
