About TP-Link Powerline Wi-Fi Extender (TL-WPA7617KIT)
Overall Feedback:
80% positive
65% liked the compact and durable design, but 35% found it flimsy
The product functions as an additional mesh point for my far off bedroom over the garage. I got a strong WiFi signal using the included Powerline and Wireless adapters.
I experienced a significant drop in performance after switching to the AV1000 powerline adapter that came with the kit.
72% praised the connectivity, but 28% experienced issues
The powerline-network-adapter paired right away and worked for a few days. However, it stopped working and I couldn't get it to pair again. I had to unplug both ends of it for a few days and try again. After that, it has been working well ever since.
79% found it easy to set up and install
The installation process is straightforward and only requires plugging in two small adapters.
72% found the network speed to be fast and reliable, but 28% experienced slow speeds
I was able to reach a peak download speed of 115Mbps and a peak upload speed of just under 110Mbps with excellent wireless and wired speeds.
I am getting download speed between 45 and 50Mbs and upload speed around 30Mbs in the garage with TP-Link Powerline WiFi extender.
When I use the TL-WPA7617KIT with only 1 foot separating the adapter and extender, and use a wired (Ethernet) connection to the extender, I get only 115 Mbps, and often even less.
81% praised the extended range and coverage
I need Wi-Fi coverage on my Dock which is 500 ft away from my house and I use this device to carry the Internet signal through my electric wiring. It works great.
These powerline-network-adapters could be helpful if you are having trouble getting a network to an exterior building on your property.
The TL-WPA7617 Kit worked even though our garage has its own sub-panel fed from the main circuit panel in the house.
I have tried all kinds of routers, repeaters, etc to get wireless in a remote room. This adapter set worked perfectly.

The build quality of the POE injector and splitter is better when ordered separately. They are made of black plastic, are gigabit and 802.3af compliant. The POE injector comes with the 48v adapter.
I am completely satisfied with the device's functionality.
