About TP-Link AV600 Powerline Ethernet Adapter(TL-PA4010 KIT)- Plug&Play
Overall Feedback:
86% positive
79% liked the compact and durable design, but 21% found it flimsy
AV2 uses hot, neutral, and ground wires for 2xMIMO and beamforming.
I have been using the product for a year now.
The build materials of our house hindered wireless transmission.
I have experienced connection drops from time to time, similar to others.
82% praised the connectivity, but 18% experienced issues
When I plugged the adapter into an extension cord, it instantly connected and the middle light came back on.
Powerline-network-adapters offer reliable connection if power outlets share the same circuit board.
I plan to replace the connectivity of my laptops and living room devices from wireless to powerline.
On the first day, I had some connection issues with the adapter, but only to the internet and not to the home network.
89% found it easy to set up and install
The powerline network adapters are easy to install and work great, except for a few gotchas to be aware of.
I found the installation process very easy. I installed one unit close to the router and another in the living room connected to the switch.
81% found the network speed to be fast and reliable
I was able to clock my speed on the device at over 90mbps, considering my very old Ethernet equipment.
85% praised the extended range and coverage, but 15% experienced dropped signals
The AV2 homeplug standard device has a lot more range and is faster than the older AV products.
Without wifi, I couldn't connect to the router with a plug on the same circuit and would have had to run cables from one end of the house to the other.
The build quality of the POE injector and splitter is better when ordered separately. They are made of black plastic, are gigabit and 802.3af compliant. The POE injector comes with the 48v adapter.
The product functions as an additional mesh point for my far off bedroom over the garage. I got a strong WiFi signal using the included Powerline and Wireless adapters.
For the cost, I expected more, but I am satisfied overall.
