About TP-Link AV1000 Powerline Starter Kit (TL-PA7017 KIT)
70% liked the compact and durable design, but 30% found it flimsy
I found it easy to set up the device.
The powerline LED went off the next day and lit back upon power-cycling the units. They worked for only about a day on the same outlets where older TL-PA4010 Ver:2.0 (AV600) units worked continuously for about two years.
79% praised the connectivity, but 21% experienced issues
I have used the product and found that it works well, but has limitations when passing through circuit breakers and cascaded circuit breaker boxes.
The new power line adapters have solved our connectivity issues and provide a rock-stable connection that is generally faster than relying on Wi-Fi alone.
I wanted to switch from wifi to a wired connection for gaming and streaming purposes.
My download speed was half of what I was getting on wi-fi and my upload speed was marginally slower.
80% found it easy to set up and install
I found this powerline-network-adapter easy to use and bought it for my new house as running an eternity cable to my router would involve more than 100ft of cable as well as cable molds to hide it throughout the house. It is much more cost effective than buying all those things for running the cable.
82% found the network speed to be fast and reliable, but 18% experienced slow speeds
After using the PA7010 units, my power line connection speed increased by over 65% according to the TP-Link utility.
I tested the internet speed directly with an ethernet cable from the router and got 150Mbps download and 20 Mbps Upload. I was expecting the same speed with the TP-Link AV1000.
Power line adapters provide a rock stable connection with a 1 gigabit transfer rate, faster than relying on Wi-Fi alone.
I got half of my standard wi-fi download speeds and my upload speeds were only marginally slower.

87% praised the extended range and coverage, but 13% experienced dropped signals
Powerline-network-adapters do not increase download or upload speed, but they do stabilize the connection.
The device works well, but has limitations when passing through circuit breakers, especially if I want the signal to jump to another cascaded circuit breaker box.
I was using two surge protectors with TL-PA4010 Ver:2.0 (AV600) units, which limited the throughput on the powerline connection to about 20-40 Mbps.
