About TP-LINK 802.3af Gigabit PoE Injector
Overall Feedback:
83% positive
71% liked the compact and durable design, but 29% found it flimsy
The build quality of the POE injector and splitter is better when ordered separately. They are made of black plastic, are gigabit and 802.3af compliant.
The product arrived dead on arrival, but it seems to be working now.
79% praised the connectivity
I can connect the product through a single cable that provides both power and network connectivity. It requires a power adapter and ethernet cable.
I was able to plug this unit into the UPS and directly to the CAT6 jack, and the other side to my WiFi hotspot, and boom! Power to the Fiber jack.
When the PoE ethernet cable is plugged in, the TP-Link splits out to a regular data ethernet connector output and a selectable 6/9/12 VDC connector output.
84% found it easy to set up and install
The POE injector was easy to install and works great. It's a plug and play device with no problems so far.
69% found the network speed to be fast and reliable, but 31% experienced slow speeds
I faced a challenge while connecting two buildings that were 150 meters apart with a CAT5e ethernet cable. The maximum cable length for ethernet is 100 meters. To overcome this, I divided the 150m into 50m and 100m sections and added a switch at the 50m mark.
I cannot comment on the speed of the adapter as my cameras and switch are only 10/100 and the adapter supports gigabit.
I faced an issue with the network speed of the powerline-network-adapter, where the PoE AC wireless access point would only give devices up to 10mbps of download at best.
The build quality of the POE injector and splitter is better when ordered separately. They are made of black plastic, are gigabit and 802.3af compliant.
I was impressed with the plastic quality, size, packaging, and contents of the powerline-network-adapters.
