About DirecTV Broadband Deca Ethernet to Coax Adapter
Overall Feedback:
86% positive
85% liked the compact and durable design, but 15% found it flimsy
Our product is faster than Ethernet over Power and reliable.
I expected the power-line adapters to be better than they actually were.
91% found it easy to set up and install
I found the installation process of the DECA kit to be simple and straightforward. I connected one unit to my existing home network via an existing switch, attached the coax line to the unit, and plugged in the power supply. At the other end of the coax, I connected the coax from the wall to the second unit, ran a short ethernet cable from the unit to a small 5-port switch, and plugged in the power supply. Within a minute or so, the indicator light went from flashing to solid, indicating an established link.
97% found the network speed to be fast and reliable, but 3% experienced slow speeds
With powerline-network-adapters, I get a constant 95/95 mbps speed and everything streams perfectly.
These powerline adapters have a maximum speed of 100 mbps, which is more than enough for our recommended 25 mbps. Our wiring performance was 86mbps.
The network speed was much lower than expected and not even close to the speed offered by our ISP.
I am satisfied with the build quality of the powerline-network-adapters. I am still considering the idea of 10 Gbps Ethernet throughout the house, but for now, this installed and working setup is excellent.

I compared the build quality of Netgear PLP2000 with Zyxels PLA5456 and found that Zyxels product maintained 33 to 35 MB/s in neighboring room but fell off dramatically with mixed with legacy devices at a distance (3-4 MB/s).
