About DEWALT 20V MAX* XR Impact Wrench
79% were impressed by the size and weight
The bare tool weight of the 3/8 inch Compact Impact Wrench is only 2lbs.
I have a 1/2 inch impact wrench that weighs 3.5lbs, has a head length of 8.25 inches and is set at max 330 FT-LBS.
The smaller 3/8 impact weighs just under 2 pounds bare, including the battery weight of 1 pound 6 ounces.
The 1/2 inch Mid-Range Impact Wrench feels balanced and comfortable with the battery, despite being heavier than the 3/8 inch tool. It is also quite compact at just under 7 inches.
82% were satisfied with the torque output
I am satisfied with the performance of the 1/2" wrench as it has impressive power and can easily take off rusted lugs.
On its highest setting, the tool claims 330 ft-lbs of torque and easily removed wheel lug nuts from the car I tested it on.
I can remove lugnuts and most other non-commercial automotive mechanic needs with the powerful torque output of the wrench.
I can use the larger wrench for fastening with over 300 foot pounds of torque and for unfastening with 600 foot pounds.
82% appreciated the vibration control feature
The 'Precision Wrench' setting offers better control as it senses the torque being applied and initiates the hammer action accordingly. It also senses the drop in torque when the fastener breaks free and stops the hammer action and slows the spin.
78% liked the speed settings
There are two maximum speed selections at 900rpm and 2000rpm, along with a variable speed trigger.
I noticed that the speed settings of the power-impact-wrenches include a maximum speed of 900 RPM for low speed, 2000 RPM for high mode, and 2000 RPM for precision (center position). The power-impact-wrenches have a maximum speed of 900 RPM for low speed, 2000 RPM for high mode, and 2000 RPM for precision (center position).
The 'Precision Wrench' setting on the speed switch goes at full speed forward until impacting starts, pauses for half a second, and then starts impacting at 3100 IPM, reducing overtightening.
I have a tool with three speed settings -- low, precision wrench, and high speeds as well as a variable speed trigger.
75% appreciated the power source
With the 5AH battery included, I have ample power from the tools.
I love the power tool for its brushless motor, lithium power, power indicator, and lots of breakaway torque.
