About SKIL 7.5-Amp 1/2-Inch Corded Hammer Drill
Overall Feedback:
93% positive
89% appreciated the long-lasting battery life, but 11% experienced frequent battery drain
The drill is corded, so I don't have to worry about losing battery power.
Within 20 minutes of use, the drill slows down and smokes, indicating poor battery life.
91% impressed with the drill's durability
I expect this drill to handle light duty use and occasionally more strenuous work without any problems.
I expect this drill to last many years, even with the plastic gear box housing, indicating its durability.
I mounted the gazebo to concrete and the drill worked perfectly for 6 out of 12 holes.
92% found it easy to use
I found this drill really easy to use with a nice stability handle, even though I'm not a super handy guy.
My first use of the drill was easy and I had no concerns. I was able to install the lead concrete anchors in no time for the TV mount and have high confidence that it is secure.
90% liked the comfortable grip, but 10% found it bulky
I have an additional handle on my drill for a good grip while drilling concrete.
The case and tool tray are awesome, indicating good ergonomics design of our power-hammer-drills.
The handle's ergonomics are not suitable for pushing for long periods of time and the back of the handle does not fit well while applying pressure and holding the trigger.
The side handle feels cheap as it is made of plastic and does not securely hold the depth stop rod.
The handle is tight and difficult to put on and off. I have used other removable handles on other drills and they go on and off much easier.
88% appreciated the low noise level, while 12% found it loud and vibratory
I have no doubt that this drill will handle more demanding jobs without a problem.
I noticed the drill smoking, humming and not spinning.
Within 20 minutes of use, my drill is burning and smoking, indicating high noise levels and damage to the drill.
90% found the hammer effective, while 10% experienced variable results
I mounted the gazebo to concrete using the drill and it worked perfectly for the first 6 out of 12 holes.
After using the drill in hammer mode for the first time, I was able to install the lead concrete anchors for the TV mount with high confidence that it is secure.
Within 20 minutes of use, the drill slows down and smokes.
89% impressed with the powerful motor
I was able to drill holes for concrete anchors in cinder block walls quickly and effortlessly with the drill.
I found that the 7.5 amps of power provided the necessary depth and the included drill bits were the perfect size.
After using the drill in hammer mode, I was relieved to see that it easily went through the concrete to the proper depth, proving that it has enough power and speed to handle heavy-duty tasks.
I have noticed that some parts of the body have peeled color, which seems like a factory issue.
