About LHS Potato Ricer and Masher, Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Commercial Baby Food Masher
Overall Feedback:
97% positive
91% appreciated the adjustable ricing settings, though 9% found them limited
I am impressed with the quality of construction of the potato ricer. The handle is strong and comfortable, and there is a piece of metal that limits the travel of the handle so that I can only apply so much force at the end, which should help extend its life.
I have complained that the linchpin is attached using a plastic knob that can be easily lost and difficult to replace. It should be attached using a wing-nut or other mechanical fastener.
95% appreciated the durable construction, while 5% found it flimsy
I am concerned about the durability of the potato ricer, specifically the linchpin which is attached using a plastic knob that is held in place using friction. This makes it easily lost and difficult to replace. I suggest that it should be attached using a wing-nut or other mechanical fastener.
I have used several ricers in the past and they all failed due to not being made strong enough. A little too much pressure and the handles fail.
97% liked how easy it was to clean, but 3% found it a hassle
Cleaning the potato ricer is a bit of a pain, even though it comes apart by pulling the pin that holds the two pieces together.
69% liked the comfortable grip, but 31% experienced discomfort
I think the handle should have been made out of tube aluminum for better durability and hand-feel. The current handle made of aluminum sheet metal with plastic hand covers is flimsy and awkward to hold, especially when processing potatoes or other root vegetables.
I am impressed with the quality of construction of the potato ricer. The handle is strong and comfortable, and there is a piece of metal that limits the travel of the handle so that I can only apply so much force at the end, which should help extend its life.
Having a potato ricer with a button or ledge on the back would allow me to apply more force to squish the product, as I am short and leverage can be tricky.
The potato ricer can fit a large potato cut in half or a medium size potato.
