I found the installation of the mailbox kit to be fine for me as a home DIY-er. I purchased a new 4x4 lumber post at Lowes, cut it down to size, and fitted into the previous mailboxes spot. Then I put together the mailbox kit, and everything took around an hour for me.
Installing it was a breeze and took less than an hour. My wife assisted with leveling the post and supporting the box while I put in screws.
