I decided to get rid of the old mailbox post and used a small bit of yard space to create a new home for this beauty. I wanted it to look like it belonged, not just plop it atop the lawn. It is 100x more attractive than the old one I had.
The mailbox is made of plastic but it does not look tacky or cheap.
I gave 4 stars only because it arrived missing parts.
I am not happy with the positioning of the red flag on the front of my mailbox. The mailman can see it but I cannot see it from my house.

The product is very sturdy and does not require digging into the ground.
I feel that the real test of the mailbox's durability will be during the winter season when the state plows fly by our house and sling the heavy, gravel-laden snow. We will update our review at that time once we see how the mailbox performs. But as of now, we feel it will be good.
Ground-mounted posts on mailboxes are always being destroyed by snowplows. Removing and replacing the remnants of the stake can be a pain, especially when the ground is frozen at the time.

I had a problem with the size and capacity of the mailbox. I had to spend $10 on a larger funnel to fill 90 lbs. of sand into the base and column because even dry sand clumps and I had to alternately pour and smack the funnel to get the sand in. This caused me pain in my thenar web space for 2 days.
