I played with it on battery for at least 30 minutes and it was charged when I received it, but I'm not sure of the battery life.
The portable TV has a hard power off switch to conserve battery life and an audio out plug for private listening with headphones.
I cannot rate the battery life as I have not had it for long enough to test it.
I did not test the battery longevity.

From my dining room table, I was able to connect the portable TV to all the channels in town.
I am able to capture all the stations with their sub-channels using the supplied wired antenna, which equals to hundreds of channels.
The antenna cable for coax connection is intermittent.
