About PowerSmart 4400-Watt Portable Generator
Overall Feedback:
72% positive
70% appreciated the power output, while 30% felt it was insufficient
I plugged a 1500 watt heater into it at full power and it powered it like a champ, even though the maximum rated running watts is 1000.
The generator is advertised as 1200 watts but the running watts is only 1000.
80% liked the quiet operation, however, 20% found it too noisy
The noise level of the generator is not that bad. I have used other devices like weed eaters, leaf blowers, and lawnmowers that were more noisy than this. I bought it to avoid idling and can block most of the noise by putting it behind my truck while sitting in the cab and closing the window if I still want less noise.
The noise level of the portable generator is comfortable for me and those around me.
At full load on a construction job site, I recorded 100db with my db meter. The only other con I have with this generator is the exhaust and noise output level.
Compared to my predator generator of the same size and output, this generator is extremely loud.
71% found the portability convenient, but 29% struggled
I can easily maneuver and unload the generator.
The generator is light yet stout.
When moving the unit, I need to be cautious as it weighs about 70 pounds.
68% were satisfied with the long run time, but 32% weren't
I can operate almost anything with the generator running for 3 to 5 hours.
I ran the generator for 20 minutes at 20% load, but it overheated and died.
There is a conflict in the technical information provided. One set has a 2.7 gallon tank with an 11 hour run time and the other set is a smaller tank with 5 hours 'longer' run time.
I used the generator and it supplied plenty of power for various appliances including lights, heat, water, refrigerator/freezer, computers, internet, and some kitchen small appliances for a few hours.
The generator is built like a tank and weighs like one too, indicating its size and weight.
