About Generac 8250 GP2500i 2,500-Watt Gas Powered Portable Inverter Generator
Overall Feedback:
73% positive
69% appreciated the size and weight, yet 31% found it too bulky
The generator is built like a tank and weighs like one too, indicating its size and weight.
The unit's shorter size was the final selling point for me as it fits under the cover of my truck.
I would not buy it again because it is too big and heavy for me to move without hurting myself.
I have been trying to buy a quiet, reliable, and lightweight portable generator for camping, weighing around 50ish pounds, as I do not want to throw my back out every time I go camping in the RV.
The unit stopped working after running for three days. It was quiet, but I was not satisfied with its performance.
82% liked the quiet operation, however, 18% found it too noisy
I took decibel readings in both full power mode and economy mode. The readings ranged from lows of 64-65ish at the front of the unit out to about 3ft away.
The portable generator I have is really quiet. Several people have asked me where I bought it and about its capability. I compared its noise level with another nearby generator and found that the other generator was louder. Based on my experience, I can say that it is a great generator.
When I tested the portable generator under load, it made a loud whining noise that was annoying.
74% were impressed with the fuel type
I filled the generator with quality 5w30 oil and ethanol free fuel.
72% found the portability convenient, but 28% struggled
One person can carry it, but it's better with two people. I made a wheeled cart to move it around easily.
I find it difficult to transport the generator with the handle going lengthwise.
71% appreciated the power output
I found that it had more than enough power for my 9K btu Air Conditioner and other appliances.
The catch levers on my generator's panel are broken, causing it to keep coming off.
