About ByronStatics Portable Disc CD player
Overall Feedback:
78% positive
73% highlighted the supported formats
The portable CD player has all the features one would expect from a Walkman-type CD player, including a pair of high-quality earbuds for private listening.
77% found it durable , but 23% experienced wear and tear
Some portable CD players can damage CDs due to cap head screws in the lid which may contact the CD if bumped or jostled.
I faced issues with the durability of the portable CD player. By slight movement of the earphone plug, there would be drop-out of the music, as if there was a loose connection inside. Same with the volume control. If I adjusted it carefully, it worked fine, but if I used what I would consider normal force, I would get audio drop-outs. When I tried to plug in the earphones, something broke loose inside, and there was no longer an earphone jack to plug into.
63% highlighted the supported formats, yet 37% encountered issues
I need to refer to the manual for a while before learning the volume and other controls by memory as there are about 8 buttons on the player.
The buttons are hard to read and see as they are the same color as the case, and have tiny markings on them that I can't really see, so I have to memorize the locations of the functions.
I wish the player had a lighted display and buttons/controls. However, once you have used it a few times, you know what does what.
69% appreciated the audio quality, but 31% raised concerns
I would replace the basic ear buds that came with the portable CD player with quality headphones to enjoy music.
I plug in over-ear headphones for a more immersive listening experience. It provides a unique aural reproduction not found in signal-normalized streaming services.
The sound quality is clear and there were no issues while in motion, such as skipping or stopping.
After listening to Green Day for 15 minutes, I noticed that the sound quality was poor.
81% liked the anti-skip protection, although 19% found it ineffective
The 60-second skip protection is very effective. I tried to make the player skip by smacking, shaking and jolting it, but it never did.
I can travel with a couple of CDs on the bus, train, at the supermarket, etc. because of the anti-skip technology.
I initially thought the noise issue was related to the anti-skip protection, but it improved after a minute. However, I noticed that the noise level changed when I barely touched the unit, indicating a problem with the anti-skip protection feature of the portable CD player.
The portable CD player has all the features one would expect from a Walkman-type CD player, including a pair of high-quality earbuds for private listening.
I faced issues such as defects right out of the box, minimum volume too loud when using efficient headphones, and damage to CDs due to cap head screws in the lid which can contact the CD if the player is bumped or jostled.
I bought this portable CD player because it got good reviews about not skipping, but right out of the box, it was skipping every few seconds, even with the anti-skip button on. I didn't even touch it, and it was still skipping.
