I powered the device through USB instead of AA batteries as the manual suggested USB power is more stable. This shows that the device has a good battery life when powered through USB.
If I leave the batteries in the player when not in use, they drain.
I recommend not using the two AA batteries that come with the device and instead using the USB power supply cable. The battery life of the portable cassette player/recorder is not very good and I have had a negative experience with it.
