About Whynter ARC-1230WNH 14,000 (12,000 BTU SACC) NEX Inverter Dual Hose Cooling SMART Portable Air Conditioner
95% liked the cooling capacity, although 5% felt it could be more efficient
The portable air conditioner effectively cools down a good sized bedroom in under 35 minutes.
I found that the cooling power of this portable air conditioner is more effective than a window unit. It took slightly under 30 minutes to cool my room, which used to take at least an hour with a window unit.
After doing research, I found that the Media Duo is the most energy efficient and has the best cooling capacity among portable style ACs.
The 12,000 BTU in a portable A/C is less effective than a 12,000 window unit, but it is quieter and easier to install than my window A/C.

Once I reach the target temperature, the noise level becomes acceptable without the compressor and fans going full blast.

The unit is very quiet with no loud jarring sound as the compressor turns on.

90% highlighted the portability and mobility, but 10% found it cumbersome
Setting up this portable air conditioner is far easier than older models.
This is my first time using a portable air conditioner and I am pleasantly surprised by how user-friendly it is.
The portable air conditioner takes up floor space compared to a window air conditioner, but it is quieter than expected.
81% found the ventilation options useful, while 19% were indifferent
I had to use extra foam to fill the gaps in the window insert and transparent weather sealing tape to seal every gap around the window. This helped minimize air exchange from the outside and seal tiny leaks from the exhaust vent. Based on my experience, it is a helpful solution.
I dump the exhaust air into my basement using one of my air return wall registers.
I modified a return register to accept a 5.9" hose coupling.
I purchased a separate 5.9" exhaust hose from Amazon and connected it to the exhaust outlet, creating a one hose system with the input air using the unit's room input duct.
