I estimate the noise level of the portable air conditioner to be around 60-65dB of mostly white noise. However, after only two days, it fades into the background unless I think about it. Outside, you have to be within 25ft of the window to hear the almost silent exhaust flow.
The noise level of the unit is tolerable and not excessive.
Both units work well and are not very loud. The 12k may be a little louder than the 10k but my son loves the noise while he sleeps.
The noise level of our air conditioning unit is fairly standard - neither quiet nor super loud.

I found the window kit easy to install and stretchable to fit my 58" window. However, the exhaust hose is very short (about 5") and may need to be replaced with a longer one.
The exhaust vent panel for the window fits easily and is secured with insulated tape, making ventilation options easy to set up.
I have experienced that the portable air conditioner has two air streams - a cool stream into the room and a hot waste stream that can be vented via window or chimney. However, it cools the room much slower than expected and continuously draws uncooled air into the room, affecting its cooling capacity. This is my personal negative feedback regarding the ventilation options feature.
I noticed that the metal plate that mounts the A/C into the window transfers some heat from outside into the room and it is inconvenient to remove and reinstall each night.

I can control all the thoughtful features of the panek with the remote, including fan speed, cooling mode, timer, etc.
I am satisfied with the portable air conditioner's remote control and touch-sensitive controls. The blue digital temperature indicator light is large and easy to see from several feet away.
The remote control has an LCD that displays the mode, fan speed, and temperature settings.
The remote control made my life easier.
