I applied the first layer of varnish which dried in half an hour. Then, I did some light sanding and added a couple more layers. Finally, I sprayed the object with an aerosol version of the varnish to achieve an even gloss surface.
Polyurethane-shellac-varnish dries quickly, with each coat taking about 1 hour to dry, and it is recommended to give it 2 hours.
